Paul Deveney studied at the London School of Economics, and was a Senior Fellow for many years at the University of Pennsylvania, where he taught writing and history. Earlier, he was a Senior Writer and columnist at the Wall Street Journal, and prior to that worked for several years as an editor in Washington, first with the old Washington Star and later with the Washington Post. He is the author of "Callaghan's Journey to Downing Street".
