Kimberly Ho Misiaszek is a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida, Maryland, and New York and is currently the Clinical Director of the Institute for Individual and Family Counseling and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies at the University of Miami. Dr. Ho Misiaszek completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child and adolescent psychology at the Yale School of Medicine's Child Study Center, with an additional emphasis in child and family traumatic stress. She was most recently a psychologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute where she provided comprehensive psychological evaluations and treatment to children and adolescents within the Psychiatric Mental Health Program and assisted with the psychology training program. As a multicultural and multiracial immigrant from Jamaica, her research seeks to understand and improve the psychological health of ethnic minorities and immigrants. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami, her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University and a B.Sc. in Communications with a double major in Psychology and Public Relations from the University of Miami. A student of classical ballet since age 5, she also holds an advanced level certificate of ballet through the Royal Academy of Dance and has performed throughout the island with Jamaica’s Movements Dance Company.
