Kristopher L. Arheart, Ed.D., is an Emeritus Associate Professor in the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Arheart is a collaborative biostatistician who provides statistical expertise for medical research in a variety of disciplines. He is currently working in the areas of HIV research as the CFAR statistician, pediatric obesity, hospital infection control, tobacco control, occupational health, ophthalmology, spinal cord injury, OBGYN, brain imaging, vector control, and comparative pathology. Dr. Arheart is the statistician on grants from NIMH, NINDS, NIAID, NIGMS, NIDA, NICHD, and CDC. His 50-year research career has resulted in over 400 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Arheart has taught classes in biostatistics and is active in mentoring students and faculty. He has been on 39 MS and Ph.D. committees as well as served as a mentor on K and F grants for faculty and students. Dr. Arheart is an ad hoc reviewer for 12 journals and has been a member of the CDC NIOSH SOH study section. During his career, Dr. Arheart has served at Kansas State University, Washburn University, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University of Miami, and the University of Texas in Austin.
