Associate Director, Student Activities & Student Organizations

Mercy Lavado serves as an Associate Director in the Department of Student Activities and Student Organizations. In her role, she advises the Committee on Student Organizations (COSO), co-advises the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee (SAFAC), and manages the organization management platform, OrgSync. She provides support and resources for the 300+ student organization community and their faculty and staff advisors.
Mercy holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Florida International University. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Student Activities at Syracuse University where she advised community outreach and advocacy student organizations, oversaw student media, and advised the student programming board. She has also served as an advisor to many Greek-lettered organizations, and currently serves as the Chapter Advisor to Phi Sigma Sigma at Nova Southeastern University.
Mercy joined the ‘Canes family in August 2018 and her favorite campus tradition is Canefest.
