  Dr. Neva Kirk-Sanchez received her B.S. in Zoology in 1988 from the University of Florida, her MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in 1990, and her PhD in Physical Therapy in 2001. She held the position of Assistant Professor at Florida International University from 1999 to 2004. She has been on the faculty at University of Miami since 2005, and is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy. She has served as the Vice Chair for Curriculum, and is currently the DPT Program Director and the Department Chair.

  Dr. Neva Kirk-Sanchez teaches modules in Models of Physical Therapy Practice, Alzheimer's Disease and Neurocognitive disorders, Communications, Diversity issues, and Social Determinants of Health and Populations Health. In the PhD Program, she teaches Models of Physical Therapy Practice, Educational Administration, and Statistical Programming.

  Dr. Kirk-Sanchez' research agenda focuses on chronic disease management and exercise and physical activity, particularly in populations of older adults with cognitive impairment. She is involved in knowledge translation research in the areas of Geriatrics and Falls Management. She also focuses on educational research.
