Natalie Kretsch, Ph.D.

Natalie Kretsch is a licensed psychologist who joined the UM Counseling Center in 2016. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Texas A&M University Student Counseling Service and her-post-doctoral residency at the UM Counseling Center. Originally from the Boston area, Dr. Kretsch received her B.A. in English from Brown University and her M.A. in Psychology from UT Austin. Areas of interest and expertise include suicide prevention, mood and anxiety disorders, mindfulness, self compassion, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and substance use concerns. In additional to her work in three college counseling centers, she has conducted treatment, assessment, supervision, and research in medical, residential, academic, and forensic settings. As a therapist she draws on a holistic, person-centered, integrative approach to help individuals face challenges, recognize their unique strengths, and meet their goals.
