Ismael "Ish" Pimienta is the Executive Director for Integrated Solutions within University of Miami Information Technology's Office of Digital Transformation and Data Solutions. Ish has been with the University since 1989, and he has successfully continued to provide technology leadership and direction to the team that oversees identity, databases, integrations, development, and support for over 30 years.
In his current role, Ish strives to transform the lives of University students, faculty, and staff by way of technological innovation through automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Over the years, Ish has led and/or been a part of major University-wide technology transformation initiatives, including terminals to PCs, mainframe email to Microsoft Exchange, merging of UHealth and Coral Gables campus technologies, and several on-premise to modernized cloud platform migrations.
Ish has received certifications from Novell, Microsoft, ITIL, and CISSP. He has also consulted on programming and infrastructure projects, supporting organizations like Miami-Dade Juvenile Justice System, Florida Breast Cancer Association, Peace Education, His House Children's Home, and others.
