Biography
A. Platon Alexandrakis is a full time lecturer in the Business Law Department at Miami Herbert Business School. He obtained his BS (2001), MBA (2007) and JD (2007) degrees from the University of Miami.
Dr. Alexandrakis has been a practicing attorney since graduation from law school and is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. He served as in-house counsel for Assurant Solutions Inc., a Fortune 500 company, before becoming the first General Counsel for a private cargo shipping line in Miami, FL. Since 2014 he has been a solo practitioner focusing on corporate transactional law, civil defense litigation, and maritime law. He represents clients from all over the world and specializes in assisting individuals in beginning new business ventures or acquiring and/or merging with existing businesses.
Prior to becoming a full time lecturer, he was an adjunct faculty member in the Business Law Department of the Business School at the University of Miami for 4 years.
At the University of Miami, Dr. Alexandrakis teaches Critical Thinking and Persuasion for Business to both undergraduate and graduate students, Real Estate Law, and Introduction to Business Law.
