Raphael D. Jackson-Ortiz

Raphael D. Jackson-Ortiz received his B.A. in International Relations from Florida International University. Upon graduation he taught Social Studies and English in the U.S. and abroad. He received his M.L.S. from the University of South Florida in 2010 and previously worked as a Reference Librarian at Kentucky State University. In addition to his reference duties, Mr. Jackson-Ortiz also served as a research assistant at the legislative research commission.
During law school he worked as a Foreign and Comparative International Law Librarian at the Interamerican University School of Law in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also served as a legal intern at the ACLU-PR.
Mr. Jackson-Ortiz received his J.D. from the Interamerican University School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude. He joined the University of Miami Law Library in 2021. In addition to his reference responsibilities, he teaches Legal Research. His research areas of interest are Conflict of Law, Human Rights, and Legal Pedagogy.
