Samantha Dietz
Dr. Samantha Dietz is the Executive Director of Programs for Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics. Her responsibilities focus on collaborating with data citizens through coordination of enterprise data governance activities to ensure UM’s data is treated as an asset. Samantha has worked as a research project coordinator and data manager for several large longitudinal and randomized controlled trial, intervention studies. She has co-authored published peer-reviewed articles on academic and psychological topics impacting children and adolescents, web-based interventions targeting adult well-being, and a Culture of Mattering. In her concurrent role supporting UM’s institutional culture, she developed and implemented multiple measures of culture for employees and students.
She has worked at the University of Miami since 2000 in various capacities. In 2004, she completed her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning specializing in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1995, and a Certified Master's Level Addiction Professional since 2016, she has diverse community-based clinical experience helping at-risk children and families, and individuals managing their recovery from substance abuse and addiction. Since childhood, she has been actively involved in community service in multiple areas of her hometown of Miami. Samantha is Chair of the Board of Directors for the YES Institute. During her down time, Sam enjoys riding her bicycle, exploring nature, and laughing with her friends and family.
