About
Dr. Brian Breed (University of Miami 2015) is a Lecturer in the Department of Writing Studies, where he primarily teaches Writing 105 (Composition I) and Writing 107 (Writing in the Sciences) for students enrolled in the College of Engineering. Additionally, Brian teaches Writing 233 (Advanced Writing in the Sciences) for students across the University of Miami.

Brian maintains active research agendas in both 19th century American Literature and Writing Studies. His critical approaches include rhetorical theory, structuralism, narrative theory, and genre analysis. Brian uses these tools to identify the strategies which authors use to both meet and reshape the expectations of their audiences. His current work seeks to explain how original research articles in science journals employ pathos to accomplish their rhetorical objectives.
