Associate Professor of Law
Andrew Elmore’s primary teaching and research interests include tort law, employment law, labor law, and legal issues affecting low-wage workers. His scholarship has been published or is forthcoming in the California Law Review, George Washington Law Review, Southern California Law Review, UC Davis Law Review, UC Irvine Law Review, UCLA Law Review, and University of Pennsylvania Law Review Online, among others. He is actively involved with the Law and Society Association, where he co-chairs CRN 8 (Labor Rights).
Prior to joining the Miami Law faculty, Professor Elmore was an Acting Assistant Professor at New York University School of Law. Before 2015, Professor Elmore was a practitioner for over a decade, first as a Skadden Fellow at The Legal Aid Society in New York City, and then as a Section Chief in the New York Office of the Attorney General. During that time, he also taught the public enforcement of employment and civil rights laws as a lecturer for Columbia and Cardozo law schools.
Professor Elmore clerked for Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He graduated from UCLA Law School, Order of the Coif, with a concentration in public interest law and policy. He received his B.A., with Distinction, from Swarthmore College.
