About

Laura Gomez-Mera is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Miami. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of International Political Economy (IPE) and Political Economy of Development, with a regional focus on Latin America. She holds a doctorate (DPhil) in  International Relations from Oxford University, an MSc. in IPE from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a degree in Economics from Universidad de San Andres (Argentina). She has held research fellowships at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at Notre Dame University (2014) and at the  Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C (2012-2013), and has also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank (Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice).
